I really do love musicals like The Sound of Music and modern musicals like Natasha Pierre and The Great Comet of 1812. It might be because the sound is closer to the classical tradition I was trained in when I was a child, or it could be the beauty of the soaring orchestral scores and the prettiness of the singing.
I will be teaching the workshop online for Tokyo International Players in September. We'll be discussing legit musical theatre songs and looking at ways to improve how we sing the material. As always I am looking forward to hearing what the attendees bring to sing.
