For the past six months, I've had the privilege of working with TIP Youth students every Saturday and Sunday to produce this year's shows: Imagine a Dragon and The Sword in the Stone. This marks a significant milestone for us as we return to our full programme, bouncing back from the challenges posed by the pandemic.
Collaborating with TIP Youth has been nothing short of inspiring. I've had the pleasure of working with two passionate groups of young theatre enthusiasts who bring their all to every rehearsal. Witnessing their growth and the joy they bring to the stage has been truly rewarding.
This year, the older group was smaller than usual. However, this allowed us to delve deeper into improvisation. With the invaluable assistance of my Assistant Director, we revised the script to incorporate elements from their rehearsal process, granting them greater creative input than we've previously had. The result was a uniquely imaginative production, occasionally touching on the surreal but always joyful.
