Today I managed to finish a short composition. The piece is only about 30 seconds long but it made me happy to complete it. This is the first time I have been asked to compose a soundtrack for an online book. So far I have finished 7 out of 10 pieces, but the first six were written at the end of last year. It's been fascinating writing music that is meant to evoke a certain feeling in the listener. The director has been very good at giving me lists of adjectives for each piece and has taken the time to describe how the music should feel.
I am finding the New Year difficult. With so many things cancelled and having to spend so much time at home I am finding it hard to be proactive and creative. So today's composition was a good thing.
